The Southeast Asia National Human Rights Institutions Forum (SEANF), comprising human rights commissions from Indonesia (Komnas HAM), Malaysia (SUHAKAM), Myanmar (MNHRC), Philippines (CHRP), Thailand (NHRCT), and Timor-Leste (PDHJ), held its Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting in Jakarta on 25-26 September 2014.
Key Outcomes:
- Adoption of meeting agenda
- Discussion of SEANF Permanent Secretariat’s Rules of Procedure (led by Komnas HAM)
- Update on SEANF-AICHR engagement (presented by MNHRC)
- Presentation of SEANF’s digital platforms (by CHRP)
- Postponement of Regional Workshop on Trafficking in Persons
- Report on Cambodia Land Rights Workshop
- Agreement to include aging populations and UN resolutions on business/human rights in upcoming annual meeting agenda
- Revision of annual meeting seminar topic to “Peace and Security”
- Finalization of agenda for 11th Annual Meeting (scheduled for November 2014 in Bali)
Komnas HAM was tasked with circulating key documents to members, including draft Rules of Procedure and observer invitations for the Bali meeting.
