At the 2nd SEANF Technical Working Group Meeting of the year, Mr. Jerald welcomed all members and gave special recognition to the newly appointed Chairperson of NHRCT, Ms. Pornprapai Ganjanarintr, and her fellow Commissioners. SEANF also expressed its appreciation to the outgoing NHRCT leadership for their dedicated service.
- Collaborative efforts under the MoU on Statelessness Issues in Sabah involving SUHAKAM, Komnas HAM, and CHRP.
- A Regional Dialogue on Human Rights and Democratization in Myanmar with AICHR representatives.
- A regional workshop co-organized with ANGOC focusing on mainstreaming land rights into the UNGP on Business and Human Rights.
In light of the ongoing impact of COVID-19, the meeting reaffirmed the crucial role of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in defending human rights both domestically and internationally. It also highlighted the importance of linking human rights with democratic development.
SEANF continues to strengthen its relationship with AICHR and is working to boost its visibility and influence in the region.
